Jashanpreet Singh, 21, of Yuba City, was under the influence of drugs during a deadly truck crash on the 10 Freeway in Ontario, California. He was arrested on Tuesday by California Highway Patrol officers in connection with an eight-vehicle collision that included four commercial vehicles. The crash left three people dead and four others hospitalized in varying conditions. All of the victims were adults, Ontario Fire Department crews said.
- Police say Singh never hit the brakes before slamming into the traffic jam, citing toxicology tests that confirmed impairment.
- Traffic westbound on Interstate 10, about 26 miles west of San Bernardino, had slowed about 1 p.m. Tuesday when a tractor-trailer failed to stop, struck other vehicles and caused a chain-reaction crash.
- Jashanpreet Singh has a valid commercial driver's license that expires in October 2026, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy:
- Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy issued a bombshell report Thursday night accusing California of violating federal law by issuing a commercial driver’s license to a foreign asylum seeker whose semi-truck crash killed three people earlier this week.
- Duffy said the Transportation Department will withhold $40 million from California after an investigation found it to be the only state failing to enforce English language requirements for truckers.
- This is exactly why @USDOT has withheld $40 MILLION from California for failure to comply with our rules to protect drivers
